People like this guy are the ones in charge of the Republican party. There are some more reasonable ones in the grassroots, but they have no power. All policy is being driven by people like Joel Webbon.

Today the Supreme Court granted review in an important case for the outcome of the 2026 elections. At stake is the fate of tens or even hundreds of thousands of mail-in ballots. No one is covering this as completely as Democracy Docket. Please support its work by subscribing today. hubs.ly/Q03M8rql0

In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.

I know, everybody should leave X, but I think an exception should be made solely for Joyce Carol Oates so she can keep wounding Musk's withered soul on his own site and he can't do a thing about it.

This race could very easily be decided by challenged ballots. Use this link to track your ballot, and remind your friends and family to do the same: info.kingcounty.gov/kcelections/...

In my old town the GOP had run basically without serious challenge for decades. A bunch of us "millennials" joined the local Dem party and basically asked to help.

We were running it in a year. Within 4 years we had a majority of town seats flipped Dem. A FAR more progressive Dem than old party

Yeah, people will be so much happier when they negotiate their own insurance because folks definitely have enough information to navigate that process without getting fleeced. And we all famously love negotiating prices - that’s why everyone loves used car salespeople.

Khanna explains his call for Schumer to be replaced over shutdown deal: "He is not meeting the moment" Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna of California said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is "out of touch with where the party's base is."

'"Look, I've worked with Sen. Schumer. He did an incredible job on the CHIPS Act, on the [Inflation Reduction Act], on infrastructure. But it's time for him to be replaced. He is not meeting the moment. He's out of touch with where the party's base is."'

"The Appeasement Eight gave Republicans bipartisan cover, and established another point of leverage Trump has over Congressional Dems...in a rapidly backsliding democracy, harm is happening no matter what. Therefore, preventing authoritarian consolidation is the most harm-reducing move."

On Saturday, while fighting tooth-and-nail to keep SNAP benefits from going to hungry families, Trump debuted a seafood buffet at Mar-a-Lago with shrimp towers, lobster tails, and loads of caviar.

Congressional republicans have greenlighted his callousness, corruption, and cruelty at every step.

agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish

Robert Reich The Failures of β€œCentrism”

Centrist Democrats in the Senate folded on the shutdown, throwing away their leverage in exchange for worthless GOP promises.

Jim Obergefell celebrates U.S. Supreme Court’s rejection of Kim Davis’s marriage equality challenge β€œI hope the Supreme Court halts further attempts by public officials to use their personal faith to deny others their civil and human rights,” the civil rights icon told The Advocate.

β€œKim Davis should have lived up to her oath and duties as a public servant by serving everyone in Rowan County, Kentucky,” Jim Obergefell told me. β€œInstead, she chose to use her faith to persecute others.”
