Thanks Chris for supporting @pcr-uk.bsky.social at our recent report launch on targeted screening for high risk groups – we really appreciate your support!

We’ve wasted so much of One’s development this yr. Didn’t loan him out in Jan. Didn’t loan him out in the summer. Similar attributes to Osula but one of the last to get a look in. If you’re someone like Beattie on their way up in the academy you’d surely question staying based on this approach

We have a squad that’s simultaneously large but with little depth in key decisions. Desperately need Tom Davies to stay fit, need Tanganga in the middle (if it means dropping McGuinness so be it) and I’d like to see what Ryan OnΓ© could do in a 2 with Campbell (who would likely also benefit)

I’m not sure how this system aims to either sure up the defence or create decent chances. Tanganga hands down our best CB but we’re playing him in a wider role. Campbell as a back-to-goal linking forward isn’t effective and just looks isolated whenever played through in the channels. It’s a mess

Taken a couple of days to digest what was really poor United performance against Derby on Saturday. All 3 goals against of our own making – messing about at the back that led to their corner for the 1st, a terrible back-pass for the 2nd, totally avoidable penalty for the 3rd. V worrying #bskyblades

Extremely timely new research that reinforces the call for targeted prostate cancer screening for high-risk groups. Congrats to Prof Ros Eeles and the rest of the IMPACT study team at ICR

Yesterday was quite a busy day! Great to be in Parliament to launch our new report on targeted screening for groups at high risk of prostate cancer, looking at how this could be put into place. You can read the new report here: www.prostate-cancer-research.org.uk/screening-re...

Appreciated, cheers! At the end of the day, it’s about providing more choices for United fans – and for those that want to stand to be able to do that without disrupting the view of those that would prefer to stay seated.

Great to speak to the guys at The Pinch, who have been supporters of this safe standing campaign from its early days. This has taken up a large chunk of my spare time in recent years, with plenty of setbacks along the way, and delighted that this is at last this week fully installed at Bramall Lane.

Saw this for the first time yesterday evening – delighted to see it finally installed and ready for Saturday’s game. 3,000 at the back of the Kop able to stand at Bramall Lane for the first time since 1991. A team effort between this campaign at the club’s Fan Advisory Board to get it over the line

Horrendous. No way back for SellΓ©s here – he either can’t adapt to the situation or won’t adapt. We’ve got a really good squad that shouldn’t be near this situation, but we’re not doing the basics. I thought after the transfer window he would get till the Charlton game, but surely after this…

What did it for Weir in the end is that the results and performances didn’t really improve despite the Cuvelier & Baxter investments and the formation tweaking after the new investment. Looks like we may be heading towards a similar end…

We’ve actually been alright in part in possession, just so poor in the final third. Godfrey has to do better on the goal. Matos looks a good addition. Wretched half for Brooks, and v little end product from Barry despite his confidence to get on the ball. Stop these Tanganga long-throws immediately

12.09.2025 19:50 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Hoping this is some sort of 4 dimensional thinking here that nobody is seeing, but SellΓ©s dropping our best creator in Hamer, best striker in Campbell, and hand extra responsibility of the captaincy to Peck who has already struggled with the increased focus of his role this season, feels v odd.

Really important piece of research out that shows that biparametric MRI could offer a viable alternative to mpMRI in the diagnostic pathway for prostate cancer – faster, cheaper, and potentially better for patient experience too. Really important for considerations on potential screening programmes

Felt really sorry for Tanganga and Peck today.

Peck because he’s still a young player but asked so do too much with his midfield partners far too advanced.

Tanganga because he is going to put superb performances like today on his debut and be in a losing team often as it stands. #bskyblades

Boro f/t

Incredibly frustrating. Simple goal – we offer no pressure on them, 2 passes and they’re in.

We didn’t not look convincing at any point and at numerous points players looked unclear what they were supposed to be doing in the system we played. Ugly in the away end late on #bskyblades

Boro h/t

+ves:
– Tanganga looks excellent. He’ll need to be if we keep playing like this
– Bindon looks improved as a result of above
– still in it

-ves:
– not sure any area is working
– Peck for most of half isolated deep, Hamer isolated elsewhere
– left side defensively horrible

Correction: one header in the playoff semis. None in the normal season – which sort of still makes the case for asking why he was signed for a system where we would only sparingly cross the ball into the areas he’s thrived on in his career. Think he’ll likely do well in Wrexham’s system #bskyblades

05.08.2025 14:59 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Worked hard in a system ill suited to him – despite Burrows’s signing we barely crossed a ball to him in front of goal, likely the only team he’s played for never to score a header. Played through injury and needing an op while Campbell got fit. Was excellent at Blackburn + in p/o semis #bskyblades

Disappointed that Kieffer Moore’s time with us didn’t really go as planned. I’d have been fine with him staying, but most United fans can’t forgive his contribution to the playoff final loss. Given his age and the system SellΓ©s is likely to play, this deal makes sense for all parties #bskyblades

My two years in secret court: How UK governments hid a national scandal The government put 100,000 Afghans at risk of death. Then used the force of law in a constitutionally unprecedented way to prevent anyone finding out.

For 2 years, 2 govts used a secret court to hide the truth: they put 100,000 Afghans at risk of death. They used constitutionally unprecedented methods to prevent reporting.
My reflections on two years on this story and why it must ever happen again.

Jess Fishlock is the oldest goalscorer in Euros history.

She's also Wales' youngest ever goalscorer at a major tournament.

…and on that occasion SMP reacts where Esther Morgan has not but not quick or decisively enough sadly. Too easy.

Ceri Holland fashioned herself a good opening a few mins before but just didn’t get a good enough connection on the ball. Really good moments in this but just lacking quality

Safia Middleton-Patel has been v good for Wales the last yr. Reads situations well (eg 1st half to push out when realising Esther Morgan wasn’t getting to Malard), takes the ball cleanly, good reflexes etc. An undercooked ball back from Morgan, but it’s a bad & costly decision by SMP #WEURO2025
