As for hash.. I mash the potato adding some moisture and fat.. Be it butter and milk or butter and broth.. Your basically making a mashed potato. Mash a carrot, mix that in. Bring the meat, mix that in. Add some finely diced onion and just fry it up
I don't have a recipe. But a new England boiled dinner, using ham.. I start the ham in just water and change out the water about half way ( to rid the high salt content.) Then I toss the veggies in.
