I know many of my friends and acquaintances are dismayed or dispirited by recent events. However, the endless forms of "I told you so" are not a winning strategy. It may give a moment of satisfaction but it is time to play the long game. Elections happen every 2 years and organizing works. πŸ”₯πŸ’ͺ🧑

The positive of Senator Hollen meeting face to face with Mr Garcia it ensures his well being. El Salvador doesn't want to bring out a broken and tortured man. Now a few more senators need to travel to insure safe treatment of their constituents. El Salvador doesn't want proof of torture

Some of us remember! His peers, i.e. republicans let him know he had to resign or be impeached. Where did the principled Republicans go?

I have a husband and a son who are 6' 3". They are fit as a fiddle, workout daily and one is around 200 and one is 220 with shoulders that block a doorway. I.e. i am well acquainted what 200-220 lbs looks like on 6' 3" frame. Rump is maybe 260 on a good day.

Kaiser P is notorious for poor to almost none mental health benefits for its members. Long wait times even after hospitalization for suicide attempts, lack of continuity of care for mental health. As a retired therapist is why I won't choose them as insurer.

No one who's trying to destroy the Department of Education has ever spent three minutes in a public school, and neither have their children or their grandchildren. None of the people destroying any of our valued public services have ever relied on them.

Inside the Explosive Meeting Where Trump Officials Clashed With Elon Musk (Gift Article) Simmering anger at the billionaire’s unchecked power spilled out in a remarkable Cabinet Room meeting. The president quickly moved to rein in Mr. Musk.

Opinion | James Carville: It’s Time for a Daring Political Maneuver, Democrats (Gift Article) There’s nothing Democrats can legitimately do to stop Trump, so we need a tactical pause in our fight to plan for the future.

I agree with James Carville. Let the repubs sink their own boat. We are barreling towards a total breakdown and President Musk will take a step too far. The budget cuts will split open the house. It won't take long, the debt limit looms. I give 30 to 60 days.

They could but we all know in the end Trump doesn't pay his workers from Giuliani down to the workers at his failed casinos. These folks likely won't get paid because rump and his lackeys will find a loophole and say "sorry, your bad".

Stop talking about a constitutional crisis, many don't understand what that means. Talk about farmers with product rotting on docks for USAID, loss of Medicaid, loss of research for cancer, loss of rural hospitals, loss of food stamps. Fact, red states lose more in this purge by Musk and Trump.

Wondering at what point this massacre implodes? As farmers watch product for USAID rot, DOJ folks resign, Hegseth makes rookie errors, children die from preventable disease, SSA slow or stop because no workers, and on and on. This level of destruction will backfire.

Trump thinks the Supremes will back him. Seems clear Thomas and Alito will, but Roberts, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Coney Barrett are on the originalists track. Birthright and congressional power of the purse are established with clear language. He may be surprised. May try to limit or pack the court.

The economy is going to start lurching to a stop as it tries to account for all his "orders". People won't know if their program is funded, many are headed for the unemployment line, services will slow to a crawl and inflation will rise when the tariffs start. Hang on, its going to be a bumpy ride.

As a daughter of a citizen and a person who lacked immigration papers at the time, wondering what my status would be in today's world. My bio father was naturalized after enlisting in the air force. The constitution grants me citizenship but will today's courts follow the constitution.

Wonder if the ICE raids are going to be mostly in "blue" voting areas? Because there are reportedly many immigrants working in poultry and meat packing plants but these are primarily in "red" voting areas.

Per Robert Reich: Just as it’s important not to give up the fight, it’s critically important to take care of yourself. If you obsess about Trump and fall down the rabbit hole of outrage, worry, and anxiety, you won’t be able to keep fighting.

The house will certainly flip based on many years of history and many R's are standing for election in the senate. Knowing they will face election in 2026 will force some hard choices. Losing all your meat packing workers, farm workers, roofers, will raise prices. Tariffs raise prices.
