“​​One night in the fall, Carole King and Gerry Goffin found a note from Kirshner that said he needed a lyric by the next day for The Shirelles. Goffin immediately began writing and King composing, The result was “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.” In January 1961.

There was an actual tapestry. Inside the original double album cover is an image of the needle point I worked on when I wasn't playing or singing. You can see where I stitched the words "thank you " before I gave it to Lou.

King and Goffin began writing "The Loco-Motion" inspired by the sound of Dee Dee Sharp and brought in Eva to record the demo. The Cookies sang backup on the demo and King herself played piano and sang. Don Kirshner loved Eva’s demo so much that he decided to release the demo. #blackhistorymonth2026
