None. The focus is field identification of sphagnum I assume no prior knowledge. Though it's pitched toward Swedish ecological survey standards.

If it had been european populations that had crashed would the gaps between managed woodland have filled in with poorer woodland. This resulting in the landscape being analysed by the consequent culture 5 hundred years later as forest Gardens?

European forests in the 14th/15th C were a managed resource. The collapse of indigenous pops were due to imported disease ( followed by heinous crimes).

Pacific Northwest's ‘forest gardens’ were deliberately planted by Indigenous people Finding suggests humans have added value to forests in lasting ways

If Europe had been visited by the Americas as opposed to the way it happend would our woodlands have been seen as forest Gardens? www.science.org/content/arti...

Where's the money going? Where do people put that much? Like materials don't cost that much they must be paid so where does it end up? Yachts?

Yes it's a shame so much of the last 20 years life is on that platform.

Up to 37,000 children may have to leave private schools because their parents say they can't afford VAT on fees. And four million kids go to school hungry because their parents can't afford breakfast.

In other words: no, you can't "easily tell when someone has used an LLM"; and if you think you can enforce a ban with detectors, you're doing damage.

Basically every ecology paper: "We found a strong link between X and Y at this site, so this is how the world works." The plot.

Calls for nature-friendly planning reform to support struggling councils Research from green groups found that more than half of local authorities in England have failed to meet their ‘biodiversity duty’ requirements.

59% of Local Authorities haven't met existing biodiversity duties under the #EnvironmentAct

No wonder when only 1/4 have an ecologist

For Government's planning reforms to work for wildlife & development, authorities need the resources to plan for nature

I understand why a term is used but their "thuggishness" is a direct consequence of inaction or action. Eg ceasing mananagement and/or increases in nitrogen load. Thug feels about like scapegoating

Ah yes the 3rd paper from my PhD. Important traits in Sphagnum aren't bounded by a single shoot. We've known for a while that they are more than the sum of their parts. So I measured both shoot and canopy across the border of competitive species in Sweden.

A four-part graphic showing examples of surface photogrammetry. (A) One photograph of Sphagnum canopy with a 69-mm circle; (B) dense point cloud produced after densification; (C) dense point cloud cropped to the sample area; (D) rasterized output of PCA cropped to 30 cm2. The color ramp shows variation in moss surface height (blue lowest and red highest values).

Diagram of six sites arranged by elevation along a cartoon mountain with an inset map of Peru. An inset table shows which burn treatments are used at which sites and which measurements were taken, including community composition, height and structure, functional traits, aboveground biomass, ecosystem fluxes, and climate.

Amazing new open science dataset just released:
Extensive plant trait, community, and function data collected by the Plant Functional Traits Course in the Puna grasslands of Peru. All of the course participants are co-authors, including the students! 🧪🌾

How does taxonomy work if we could travel to multiple planets like in star wars? Assuming panspermia is NOT or if it were TRuE? If a planet was an evolutionary reflection of what happend on earth would we call hairy milk producers mammals or would we need a new name?

I'm a C student with a PhD what you get in tests and exams in school does not determine what you are capable of.
