It's hard to not see the parallels with what happened with Ars Technica, but the silver lining is that I think you guys handled it well just like they did. Publishing is built on trust and no editor ever jumps to bad sourcing or outright fabrication. The original author is the real loser here.

Everyone else has done much worse than just wasting money, they're saddling themselves up with debt. If they just spent a big chunk of their cash and lost it, big deal. But this debt is gonna stick around for years, decades, and they'll also be making less money for at least a little while too.

I did this recently to fix a WiFi issue on my Bazzite PC. Swapped the card in and out twice.

I hate to say it but he's absolutely correct, if the people who run the system choose to not enforce the rules then Trump can absolutely ignore a Supreme Court decision. It's always been this way, Trump's just the first guy to successfully ignore the law at this scale.

For journalism it's a real fucking problem, because "this post was made somewhere between July 2025 and July 2026" or whatever is something you never wanna write.
