I have interviewed countless stalking victims. If the police didn’t act on a victim’s word, then a video of what happened won’t convince them either.
It’s very easy for someone to contort evidence of stalking into evidence nothing happened if their goal was to minimize the violence all along.
After revelations that companies like Ring have been selling home security footage to ICE, the most common defense of keeping a camera up seems to be, “But what if I’m stalked?”
And as a violence researcher, I’m just here to state for the record that police do not care about your security footage.

This. My university keeps wanting me to make a “syllabot,” an LLM-based chatbot my students can query about the syllabus. And all I can think about is all the resources being consumed so no one has to use Ctrl+F.
There needs to be like 5 "too nice to work" holidays controlled by each state. Like a snow day, you don't get any advance notice. The stations and alerts just put out the message that the next day is too nice to work and everyone is off.
