Same here! Bad asthma as a child would probably have killed me before I was a teenager, and if that didnβt, the cancer I got at aged 29 definitely would have!

18.02.2026 10:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think a LOT of founders, especially in tech, who make the same mistake in thinking they created things that were more a case of right place, right time.

15.02.2026 13:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Donβt forget the Shroves, they wake up but once a year!
15.02.2026 08:57 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Watching it with my daughter and she said βI wouldnβt do that Dad, it does NOT look safeβ π Iβve snowboarded down one of the deadliest slopes in Europe and you couldnβt pay me to do the teatray of death π
14.02.2026 19:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Great idea for a post apocalyptic novel though, historian travels the ruins of the world and reads the forbidden archives, learns all the sketchy stuff!
14.02.2026 08:20 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah, that smacks of βwe knew it was bad, but oh, oh dear, itβs waaaay worseβ
14.02.2026 08:18 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think I need to resurrect that tradition! Lots of odd little sci-fi and horror films, crazy Japanese and Korean films, and other assorted oddities.
13.02.2026 16:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I remember when I was ill Iβd host mad film nights, showcasing some of the weirder films in my collection (thereβs a lot of those). It was a great opportunity to introduce folks to strange films and socialise when that was hard for me to do!
13.02.2026 16:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The rest is from when I had cancer and was too ill to leave the house, I bought a LOT of films that year. Every now and then I think I should get rid of some, but I realise that the vast majority of my collection isnβt on streaming. Or itβs spread over so many services as to be impractical.
13.02.2026 16:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Currently trying to clear our lounge ready to have new flooring. As part of that, Iβve had to clear the DVD shelves. Iβd forgotten quite how many DVDs Iβve actually got (well over a 1500). Think the DVD scene from Hot Fuzz, but with more DVDs π part of it is my latent hoarding genes!
13.02.2026 16:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Good luck! I got sent a while back when I had chest pains, turns out I had high blood pressure. Better safe than sorry, hope it turns out to be nothing serious.

09.02.2026 19:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That and make it so I can do a weekly shop without feeling like Iβve been mugged.
09.02.2026 18:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Had a very similar conversation with a WSG when me and my daughter went to buy pastel coloured paints for her 3D printed 40K MLP marines for the school Warhammer club painting competition!

07.02.2026 14:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Fun fact, my dad has a 95% built one of these in his garage, but because he definitely has ADHD, even though he thinks such things are nonsense, it remains sadly unfinished. π’

07.02.2026 12:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I was lucky enough to see him talk a couple of times at the model engineers show back in the 80s (used to get dragged by my dad every year). Hung around to meet him after, absolutely lovely bloke, great speaker, and really passionate about his subjects too!

06.02.2026 12:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I wore the fourth one when I was part of the Viking boat Guinness Marathon attempt π
