Am I the only one annoyed that it's posessive-style "herself/himself", and yet the way I see it done for singular they is "themself", when I feel like "theirself" matches the norm better?

Like, it's he/she/them, but it's not he-self or she-self, so why use "them-self" instead of her/his/theirself?

Hmm. If the Q of an edge/vertex I *knew* I wanted to preserve was overridden with or multiplied by a very high error value, the simplification would be biased towards trying to skip it, right?

Could maybe use the dot product of the face normals on either side of an edge, to find the sharp edges.

It's fun to build intuition for these sorts of things by doing, too. Basically the only way I can apprehend this stuff, haha.

I bet there are some simplifications we could make. My geometry is relatively simple; I'm combining a grid of deformable 3D cubes into a manifold topology, then simplifying the result.

I'm self taught and think spatially, so I run into this often when parsing a math paper. There's a language barrier in my brain, with how it's often taught or communicated.

Using some old sprites to work on a billboard-style character animator.

Cursory check, and this is a "gender critical" account, posting a few times a year to lament that the Green Party doesn't hate trans people enough, and that people don't care for their politely-worded hate speech here as they do on Twitter.

Block and move on sorta situation, IMO.
