The simplest author advice anyone can give is to not write one damned thing until you've gone out and lived. Do things. Experience things. Live. Learn. Then create.

It's the weekend. Also I suspect most authors are conditioned to not expect fast replies (or any replies at all).

As a parent I avoid emails and am barely online during the weekend. As such I rarely query late in the week.

CSX train blasting out of the fog along the Hudson River

I love a good micro-climate. Here's a thick fog bank at 6AM along the Hudson River, with two guys going fishing and a northbound CSX train blasting out of the clouds. Behind me it was a nice normal clear morning. None of us were supposed to be there, and yet, we were exactly where we needed to be.

How have I made it this long on this platform without openly clearly stating #FUCKICE ?

Pride month made me realize I needed to add a few lines to my manuscript (set in 1991 NYC). The scene is a bad a** criminal lesbian coming out to the MC. It previously didn't touch on how many were in the closet back then. Felt like a super important detail to include.
