do you ever read your own writing and wonder how tf you got there? i swear some of it can not possibly have come from the same brain that can’t form a coherent sentence now

i’m not saying you need to read gore in order to be intelligent but you do need basic reading comprehension which includes navigating complex and controversial concepts, without which there is no expansion of your knowledge

My current inspiration with how they make their visual novels is Black Tabby Games.

Wonder how long it'll take for different media to realize that you can't cover up bad writing with everything else in a thing.

Because it's one thing when writing isn't needed in a work, but it's another when you throw glitter on the problem and pray it blinds the audience to not see the flaws.

Thankfully, got some time to do stuff recently so will be able to catch up to some things.

Personal rule with lore?

Either make as much as you LIKE or make as much as you USE. They're not mutually exclusive, but pick which is more important

Making it for fun? Former.

Doing something with it like story, content, etc.? Latter. Slim down only to what you'll show. Keep the rest to trivia.

Going to give up on one of my current story ideas. I think it's still a good plot that may help others but with the current landscape with AI, now is definitely not the time to make it.

....yep, I'm definitely ignoring the 4th game and making my own lore for the final book of my fic.

My take on lore for characters?

There are two schools of thought:
- make as much lore as you LIKE (where your happiness matters)
- make as much lore as you'll USE (where if you won't use it, don't think about it)

Not mutually exclusive, but food for thought.

Never ask me my opinion if you aren't prepared for honesty. I'll hold back some bits for people I care about but... if I don't have anything good to say, I won't lie through my teeth and pretend I like it.
