I think today is the day that the #Eagles and Dallas Goedert’s team are going to sit down and seriously hash out the nitty gritty details of the next date to which they’re gonna push back the void date. #NFL
Howie has earned all the equity in the world. But it’s hard to fathom Mukuba + Rookie or Mukuba + low production vet or Mukuba + converter corner being PLAN A at safety for the Eagles. After what happened at CB2 last year you’d think a lesson was learned. #Eagles #NFL
Jones is better in (and has been used more in) the slot. But he can also play outside. Bringing him in as a slot corner would reinforce the rumor that Michael Carter II could move to safety. #Eagles #NFL
#Eagles signing Jonathan Jones (via Ian Rapoport). Unsurprising that they would continue to add there. Need folks who can just come in the game and survive when need be. Last year that spot was atrocious. Really felt the loss of Slay and Rodgers. Jones is old but has plenty of experience.
According to Jeremy Fowler, the #Eagles have restructured with Landon Dickerson. Looks like the 2028 season has been removed from his deal and some money has been converted to incentives for 26/27.
For the time being, though, let’s get back to this Greenard to Philly situation;)
If you believe that the #Ravens and Hendrickson worked out their deal TODAY then I have some real estate I’d love to sell you. The people reporting that (I get that they have people the need to appease) should be a bit embarrassed. The Ravens certainly had this deal worked out pre “failed physical.”
Well. If we’re being totally honest (and I don’t want this to sound like an indictment of Hurts) I think that’s more on the QB than the TE. Mannion is gonna have to help Hurts see more of the progression in this offense.
If I’m a Ravens fan… I am happy about this. That’s for sure. The Raiders? Are in a remarkably tough spot. They allocated A LOT of $$$ over the last 48 hours under the assumption Crosby was off their books. Gonna be an incredibly rough transition out of this for them.
Likewise, for #Eagles, Calcaterra is a no-brainer in this new offense where the TE role is traditionally more segmented. Calcaterra cannot block. And was often a liability for an Eagles team that needed an all-in-one TE. Here, Calcaterra will catch passes. Almost exclusively. Still need a #1 TE.
Mundt is a great fit as a blocking TE for #Eagles. Played with OC Sean Mannion in MINN. It’s an easy signing and not a big deal, but it is a nice indication that the team is really leaning into a new system and scheme that required a guy at TE capable of rolling out a Mundtcake or two.
No one is taking $$ away from him. And the Ravens didnt do anything they arent ‘allowed’ to do. But from the wording of the release ‘the ravens backed out’ and the reports we have already seen that other GMs are texting insiders ‘this is bullshit’ I think its clear this isnt a typical medical issue.
Of course, yes, Howie should be calling the #Raiders right now. #Eagles #NFL. ALSO… I am new here. What do we do to drive engagement in posts? Hashtags? @ symbols? Something else?
According to Russini, they are not re-engaging because they moved on with Rashan Gary. To me, that’s like saying ‘my trip to the Amalfi Coast got cancelled but I am not going to re-book because I already grabbed dinner at Panda Express.’
The reason why trades are VERY RARELY negated due to failed physicals is that teams don’t trade guys if they have concern about their medicals. Teams docs have signed off. The Raiders, as you can tell by the wording in their statement, clearly do not feel that Crosby should fail a physical.
It is fairly uncommon. But that isn’t really the point here. Unless we see him fail other physicals. But my guess is that he and his team will be putting out a statement that he is perfectly healthy and that another team will concur. Issue here is… if they pivot to Hendrickson it’s gonna look fishy.
I expect the #NFLPA to have major issues with the #Ravens. Of course, no trade is final until the league year starts. But, to throw Crosby under the bus and make other teams wary of pursuing him because (almost certainly) they got a deal done elsewhere that spared their draft… is some bullshit. #NFL
Do the #Ravens have a deal with Hendrickson? Hard to imagine feeling like it was worth giving up 2 1s to get Edge help and then, suddenly, not having a big answer at that position #NFL
Ravens have a deal with Hendrickson?
Not seeing the Johnny Mundt news on this app. Eagles agree to terms with their new BLOCKING tight end. Not a key pass catcher. But a very good glue guy and blocker.
I’m giving it a shot at free agency time! I am desperate to be able to get off of that other place. And I figure if I can make it work this week… I can make it work anytime.
I don’t think moving Carter is in their plans at all. I think they extended Davis and that created a ton of calls and texts between agents and insiders and that kicked a lot of dust up in the air. It makes ZERO sense to move off of Carter. Especially now when his value in a deal is at a low point.
I would think he goes to the Giants just because I think they’ll offer an amount that’s ludicrous. But, even if not, he probably won’t officially join the Ravens until something happens with Lamar’s contract.
That Crosby trade tells you a lot about what teams (or at least the Ravens) think about this draft. There are some drafts in recent history in which pick 14 would have been nearly untouchable. Here, it’s half of a package for a 29 year old non-QB. #NFL #NFLDraft
I dunno: Milton Williams got about $4M extra for that ring:)
Different culture with dad on the outside. That’s the problem. Never had a guy like Deion who is that outspoken and has a near-daily national podium AND is a legitimate threat to be hired as an NFL coach. Entirely unique situation and I don’t think teams view the player as worth the experiment.
No one is passing on Shedeur for any reason other than this: They don’t think drafting him will be good for their team. These guys lose jobs at the drop of a hat… no one is passing on a guy they think makes their team better.
Agree to disagree on the first part. Hard to build a culture. That’s why about 3-4 teams have a good one. No one needs that kind of external headache unless they feel the player is a franchise type guy. And that’s just not (obviously) where teams had Shedeur.
No, it’s not: Jack Sawyer is a heck of a player whose father isn’t going to publicly criticize the organization if he isn’t getting snaps and isn’t going imply, on national television, that he might get the most out of his son if he were the head coach.
Yeah. Teams viewed Nolan Smith as too small. So he slid. Dean was small and injured. Slid. Viewed DeJean as a tweener. Slid. Many teams cannot afford to be wrong: Job security issues. Thin talent on roster. The Eagles benefit from Howie not having those concerns. Can just take the best players.
