This cover inspired the dynamic between Faith and Monique in the flashbacks in "This Thing of Ours" and it hits different when viewed in the context of being a lesbian in the closet compared to the original version by Lustra.

I can't tell you how many writers I've met that think their protags need to be flawless, perfect people. The truth is a good MC should have some strong flaws, fears, and maybe even vices. They'll be far more interesting and relatable to the reader.
