This poem helped me process my s*xual abuse. Now with a few years' distance, I hope my story, with its ultimate message of solidarity & hope, can help you.
While not graphic, it is raw, so please be kind to yourself in how you view.
I'm partnering with @goodgriefnetwork.bsky.social next week to facilitate a brand new Halloween-themed event!
This online event flips the script on our societyโs spooky stories about death & shows how death acceptance can connect us to our values, to each other, & to a deeper appreciation for life!

This is message for everyone struggling to find balance between avoidance & burnout. And itโs a call to committed action for fellow practitioners to pitch in!

The title "Thriving Through Apocalyptic Anxiety" with Dr. Devin Guthrie is displayed alongside a picture of a person's dirty fist clutching two pretty white flowers.
For anyone still looking for something Earth Day-related to do today, I still have spots available in my Thriving Through Apocalyptic Anxiety workshop tonight! This is absolutely my favorite workshop to facilitate, & I'm excited to do it on #EarthDay this year!

A comic shows a distressed white squirrel asking, โHow am I supposed to feel joy when the world around me is being destroyed?โ A glowing green spirit squirrel appears, sits beside them, and hugs them, & says, โHowever you can.โ
Living as well as we can for as long as we can, striving to improve the world without foreknowledge of our efforts' outcome...that's all we've ever had, climate crisis or no climate crisis, you know?
18.04.2025 03:01 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0We don't know if we can save humanity, & we *can* do our best to make sure as many people as possible have lives worth living for as long as they're able.
Also, "the Earth" will go on with or without us.
Think along the lines of @justcollapse.bsky.social
Someone should tell RFK Jr that Emily Dickinson is suspected to have been autistic & one of the most prolific poets of all time.
His mischaracterization of autistic people shows him to be hateful, ignorant & uninformed.
More than that, we ALL have value. Evaluating โworthโ shouldnโt be a spectrum
Title: "It's That Easy!" The cartoon is a four-panel comic strip that shows how environmental advice has escalated over the decades. In each panel, there's an adult (presumably a parent or teacher figure) kneeling next to a child and delivering advice about how to save the Earth. The child looks up at the adult, seemingly overwhelmed. Panel 1 (Top Left โ 1980s): Scene: A man squatting next to a child. There's a regular trash can next to them. Title: "IT'S THAT EASY!" This is a four-panel comic strip that humorously tracks the increasing complexity of environmental advice over the decades. In each panel, a man is squatting next to a child, pointing forward with one hand. The manโs expression stays the same throughout โ cheerful and upbeat โ while the child consistently looks a bit unsure or overwhelmed. Panel 1 (Top Left โ 1980s): Scene: The man and child are next to a regular trash can. Man says: "Pick up your litter and save the Earth!" Panel 2 (Top Right โ 1990s): Scene: The man and child are now next to a recycling bin. Man says: "Recycle and you can save the Earth!" Panel 3 (Bottom Left โ 2000s): Scene: The man, now wearing a bicycle helmet, stands next to a bicycle with the same child. Man says: "Reduce your carbon footprint and you can save the Earth!" Panel 4 (Bottom Right โ 2010s): Scene: The background is now ablaze with fire and smoke, suggesting environmental catastrophe. Man says: "Completely restructure global economic systems and you may be able to save a remnant of humanity!"
On the other hand, more people are waking up to systemic harms & the meta crisis.

Do that, so I never have to be next.
Since the election, people have asked what they can do for me. And I'm moved, & I also think, "For me? I'm fine. I can leave anytime. By the time you need to anything for *me*, it will be too late."
#TransDayofVisibility
I hold my fear, anger, & profound weariness at the same time I know Americans are in concentration camps with only one cup & spoon to dozens of mouths & stomachs. And I'm not one of them, nor is anyone I know. Yet.
#TransDayofVisibility
I dreamt I was being hunted through a JCPenney's by packs of middle-aged YT women who were afraid I would use their bathroom.
I texted my bestie (also trans), & she said, "Maybe prophetic dreams are real rofl ๐คฃ"
It's okay to laugh at this even if you aren't trans.
It's okay to cry.
A post from Strewth @StrewthQueen says, "Matt Walsh says trans people today are comparing themselves to Jewish people in the Holocaust Incorrect. We are comparing ourselves to trans people in the Holocaust"
It's a weird #TransDayofVisibility for me because I feel all too visible all too much of the time. If a stranger walked up & asked, "Hey, are u trans?" my urge would be to palm my pepper spray & search for a convenient shrubbery to duck behind. Like, can we get a #TransDayofINvisibility up in here?

Everyone believes they will be the exception. That chronic illness, homelessness or tragedy wonโt befall them.
We canโt all be the exception. Life can change in an instant, and most will experience tragedy at some point in their lives.
