America: An Exit Interview
What became unbearable was not just its violence, but the insistence that we fight to be included in the American project rather than dismantle it entirely.
The compulsion to filter every global crisis through the question βbut how is this Americaβs fault?β is simply American exceptionalism in reverse - this time wearing a critical theory costume. Happy Halloween - Iβm honored you came dressed as America.

The homophobic formulation βAdam and Eve, not Adam and Steveβ is rightly receiving the heat. It enacts more than homophobia though. Itβs deeply embedded in white narratives of Christian single-origin story of our world. We canβt solely focus on homophobia allowing hegemony of monocultural stories.

America: An Exit Interview
What became unbearable was not just its violence, but the insistence that we fight to be included in the American project rather than dismantle it entirely.
I left America with relief, not regret. I wrote an exit interview not about Trump but about the liberal complicity that makes principled resistance impossible.

Every Trans Suicide Is A Murder By Those In Power
News came this week that transgender athlete and student Lia Smith took her life at just 21 years of age.
1. This week, news emerged that former trans athlete, student at Middlebury, and advocate for trans rights, Lia Smith, was found dead.
Her death was ruled a suicide.
But I argue that it's not only a suicide. Every trans suicide is a murder by those in power.

This connection is completely undeniable. Domestic American authoritarianism is really just imperialism boomeranging inward and now being weaponized against migrants, racialized populations, and queer communities within U.S. borders.

Sadly, this is what most white Americans have appetite for. A controlled, safe walk in the park once every month or so wont cut it. Most people who ONLY attend these large no kings protests have no skin in the game and it shows. Real solidarity requires sustained action, not performative gestures.

These multilateral orgs are merely harbingers of austerity forcing already debt-burdened nations to privatize public services, deregulate markets, and reduce essential social spending. They force open vulnerable markets to western capital with no protection for domestic industries.

The World Bank and IMF continue to function as instruments of Western economic hegemony prioritizing private capital accumulation over actual development. Their recommendations often benefit financial interests in the Global North while devastating local economies.

Israel never wanted the ceasefire & has repeatedly violated its terms. Netanyahu told his cabinet they would never reach phase 2. The pattern is unmistakable & the international community gets away with doing nothing to ensure Israel abides by the ceasefire. Donβt stop pressuring your governments.

Gen Z Morocco protests turn violent as govβt pledges talks
The protests in Morocco are part of a global wave, stretching from Nepal to Madagascar, where Gen Z is protesting against corruption and social injustice.
"For the fourth consecutive night, young people protested Tuesday under the banner of the online collective 'GenZ 212', a loosely organised movement mobilising mainly through gaming platform Discord." #Morocco

Itβs good that countries are stepping in to aid the flotilla if necessary but how is a ship with a top speed of 37km/h leaving from Cartagena in the western Mediterranean going to help when the flotilla is 2000+km away east of Crete.

Democrats never needed the emergence of entire think tanks to convince them to abandon trans people. They have always left trans folx behind in practice anyway. Besides, they have lately been itching to jump on the anti trans bandwagon. All on their own.

Unpopularity isn't enough! What matters is whether that unpopularity mobilizes into genuine opposition that disrupts power.
16.09.2025 20:35 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
This matters but only insofar as mass unpopularity translates into actual resistance against the administration and its cronies. Let's be real - dictators keep power just fine by cultivating a loyal coalition of capitalists, media outlets, universities, government agencies etc.

Want to caution against the impulse to insert geopolitics into this. Something extraordinary has happened in Nepal and the movement seems organic and grassroots. Undeniably foreign influence is and will continue to be a factor in Nepal but a geopolitical characterization is unhelpful rn.
