I left America with relief, not regret. I wrote an exit interview not about Trump but about the liberal complicity that makes principled resistance impossible.

Sadly, this is what most white Americans have appetite for. A controlled, safe walk in the park once every month or so wont cut it. Most people who ONLY attend these large no kings protests have no skin in the game and it shows. Real solidarity requires sustained action, not performative gestures.

These multilateral orgs are merely harbingers of austerity forcing already debt-burdened nations to privatize public services, deregulate markets, and reduce essential social spending. They force open vulnerable markets to western capital with no protection for domestic industries.

The World Bank and IMF continue to function as instruments of Western economic hegemony prioritizing private capital accumulation over actual development. Their recommendations often benefit financial interests in the Global North while devastating local economies.

Israel never wanted the ceasefire & has repeatedly violated its terms. Netanyahu told his cabinet they would never reach phase 2. The pattern is unmistakable & the international community gets away with doing nothing to ensure Israel abides by the ceasefire. Don’t stop pressuring your governments.

It’s good that countries are stepping in to aid the flotilla if necessary but how is a ship with a top speed of 37km/h leaving from Cartagena in the western Mediterranean going to help when the flotilla is 2000+km away east of Crete.

This is so unserious but also terribly dangerous.

Unpopularity isn't enough! What matters is whether that unpopularity mobilizes into genuine opposition that disrupts power.

This matters but only insofar as mass unpopularity translates into actual resistance against the administration and its cronies. Let's be real - dictators keep power just fine by cultivating a loyal coalition of capitalists, media outlets, universities, government agencies etc.

The way Liberal response to fascist attacks on liberalism has been to prove they are not liberals is so indicative of liberalism
