New Order OTD 1986: Club 1018, NY in honour of Ruth Polsky on her birthday.
Ruth brought many UK acts to the US & booked Joy Divisionβs US tour. She died in a freak car accident while queueing outside New Yorkβs Limelight club in September that year

The giant roadie came on to do the Divine version of Blue Monday, can't remember his name.
Hooky may have also whacked somebody down the front with the head of his bass. Guy was spitting or throwing beer. All blur after 42 years.

When the Human League were dropped from the Talking Heads tour, Joy Division were to replace them in Scotland.

OTD 1981: New Order's classic Movement album (FAC 50) entered the UK charts. It stayed for ten weeks peaking at number 30. Tony Wilson described the chart position as βextremely poorβ.
