Trump´s strategies are those of an eleven year old playing Risk, forgetting that the other players also get reinforcements and troop movements, and indeed turns.

🌱 Back to grey after two proper sunny days, the fields are underwater but life is flooding back. The chiff chaffs are in full voice and I saw storks wheeling over the supermarket (a traditional sign of spring 😉)

A collage from the garden this morning, hellebores spontaneously hybridizing (I have only ever planted single white ones) snowdrops and primroses and the first sprouts from the seeds sown on the front room window ledge.

🌱 I enthusiastically went out at first light because no rain was forecast, only to discover the tiniest snowflakes were falling and a bitter wind blowing, being a lightweight I retreated. However, the first zinnias have sprouted on the window sill, there are signs…

It’s definitely not spring, but the signs are there, and I have the itch to start sowing seeds.
It feels like the first sunny Saturday for a very long time!

A watercolour of your bee on cosmos. An antidote to the seasonal blues and lack of sunshine many of us are feeling.

I hate this time of year, although it’s part of the cycle it’s always a reminder of things lost. Light is coming, (in the same way jam is coming) and there will be flowers.

Thankfully the days are about to start getting longer but the garden is looking bleak, we’re both in shutdown. So when I can’t garden amongst the flowers I paint them
