I imagine someone 'hilariously' posted some recorded whalesong that sounded like Thom Yorke. #backinbusiness

Cohen, Clash, Case. Wish I had that Chavez record, I didn't even know it existed! I saw The Hard Quartet quite recently in London and thoroughly enjoyed them.

When people on here say watch/listen to something at a certain time, I never know what time that is where I am. So I found this, which tells you when 6pm UK time is, where you are: tinyurl.com/2kdkd6fw
So, if it's the middle of the night, you might not be too busy to listen to my show live...right?

Allo Darlin' - Bright Nights Allo Darlin' - Bright Nights Links. Available on all popular platforms.

If you had told me a year ago that we'd have a new Allo Darlin' album in our hands I would never have believed you. "Bright Nights" might be their best yet, a warm & rootsy mix of pop & folk, jangle and twang. Ace!

A man is sitting at a computer, seemingly trying to insert a 12" record into the screen. The image is generated by AI and shows not only how far this technology has come but also how far it still has to travel. The man's cap has a gap at the front through which his hair elegantly pokes...why?

Here are some I just made up, so apologies for lack of depth:
More Tears for Martyrs (Emo)
Glint (Alt rock)
Portal People (Disco)
Inverted Waste Mechanism (Industrial Death Metal)
Squeaky Hole (?)
Days Without Water (Screamo)
Filthbag Mantunnel (Darkwave))

Please record them and release them on vinyl. I will buy many copies. I cannot get to the shows as I am employed in a school in the UK. They frown upon spontaneous, unauthorised absences, even when Silkworm is involved.

It is musically illegal not to like Allo Darlin', so watch out if you think you don't like them. In a world where it is possible for people to like Oasis and Toad the Wet Sprocket, laws must be passed where good music is involved.

Donโ€™t worry. You missed yesterdayโ€™s CWMP3s (@an-archivist.bsky.social)from me on Radio Woking. Itโ€™s fine. Itโ€™s ok. Iโ€™m not not mad, Iโ€™m just disappointed. To earn back my trust why not go online now and listen at your own leisure at www.cwmp3.com/2025/07/20/2...

Somehow, the Gods that determine how much a band should be revered have taken their eye off the ball and consigned Family Cat to the scrap heap. However, everything about their two albums is pristine. Golden Book, their second record, should be required reading for any new band. Deal with it.

Around that time I played in a band called Fourth Quartet and Stuart wrote a particularly direct dedication when he signed his book for me. If I remember I will post it later.

I will listen to the late career highlight. I've never missed an opportunity to see them and do love what they do. Seeing them is like seeing an old friend because they used to play rooms where the audience was almost on the stage.

This is Matt's show from last weekend. Guitar music in all sorts of forms, some of them loud and fast.

It's the only time I have seen a band smash stuff up in a way that I felt they might regret. Seeing Mogwai subsequently is joyful, but makes me feel old. I do love their version(s) of My Father My King though.

17.07.2025 23:10 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The thing for me with Mogwai was that they quickly began to repeat themselves. But we followed them around for a while off the back of the Summer 7", which blew my mind. They played a show at the Garage in Highbury that ended with them so off their faces that they destroyed all their equipment.

I should probably have said that we do this on a community DAB radio station (Radio Woking) for zero financial gain. It's a labour of love, or as some of you would say, labor of love. ๐Ÿ˜€
