The United States of America is the richest country in the history of the world. It is time for us to make good on the statement that health care is a basic human right.

We need health care for everyone. Iโ€™m staying in that fight all the way.

Stop the Dept of Edโ€™s Destructive Push to Dismantle Public Service Careers Text SIGN PNWJFG to 50409 โ€” I am urging you to stop the Department of Educationโ€™s attempt to quietly redefine โ€œprofessional degreesโ€ in a way that strips nursing, education, social work, audiology, public health, and other essential fields of their longstanding professional status. This change will limit studentsโ€™ access to federal loan programs and choke off the talent pipeline for critically important jobs. But it is also clear this is part of a larger effort to break apart the Department and shift its financial responsibilities to private contractors and politically connected firms. That is the opposite of fiscal responsibility. It opens the door to waste, abuse, and sweetheart deals โ€” exactly the kind of Washington insider behavior voters across the political spectrum rejected. Multiple reports confirm that the Department is already pushing major programs into agencies with no education mission. At the same time, theyโ€™re attempting to downgrade entire fields that overwhelmingly serve our communities: nurses, teachers, speech-language pathologists, social workers, and public-health professionals. These fields rely on advanced degrees and specialized training. Calling these degrees โ€œnon-professionalโ€ doesnโ€™t make sense unless the goal is to make sure fewer students qualify for federal support โ€” which in turn shrinks the public workforce and weakens the Departmentโ€™s internal capacity. When federal expertise dries up, the next step is predictable: contract the work out. And in recent years weโ€™ve seen how โ€œreorganizationsโ€ in multiple agencies have led to expensive no-bid or limited-bid contracts, often handed to firms with close political ties. It creates a system where taxpayers pay more and get less, while insiders profit. This reclassification also hits the workforce that American families depend on: โ€ข Nursing: We face a nationwide shortage that affects hospitals, clinics, and veteransโ€™ care. โ€ข Teaching: Schools everywhere struggle to hire qualified educators, especially in special education and STEM. โ€ข Public health and social work: These fields support seniors, veterans, children, and families in crisis. Reducing the ability of students to train for these jobs is not conservative, itโ€™s not constitutional, and itโ€™s not smart policy. It weakens national preparedness, undermines local communities, and forces states to shoulder even greater burdens. Iโ€™m asking Congress to: 1. Nullify the Departmentโ€™s redefinition of โ€œprofessional degreesโ€ and restore long-standing standards recognized by accreditation and licensing bodies. 2. Ensure that federal student-aid programs cannot be privatized or outsourced without clear congressional approval. 3. Stop any attempt to dismantle the Department of Education through piecemeal actions that force essential functions into private hands. 4. Protect taxpayers by preventing back-room contracting, no-bid deals, and giveaways to political insiders. This issue should unite all sides: we need transparency, accountability, and a stable workforce in the fields that keep our communities strong. Congress must make sure no agency can hollow itself out and hand its responsibilities to private interests without oversight. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Impeach Trump for Threatening Veterans in Congress Text SIGN PZHAOX to 50409 โ€” I write with deep respect for our military, our veterans, and the rule of law. What happened this week requires Congress to act. This morning, President Trump called a group of military veterans in Congress โ€œtraitorsโ€ and said they should be โ€œARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL.โ€ By mid-morning he escalated to: โ€œSEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!โ€ Their โ€œcrime,โ€ in his eyes, was releasing a short video reminding active-duty military and intelligence personnel of their most basic legal duty: they must refuse illegal orders. This is settled law under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and established by precedent such as the Calley case. The Army Field Manual explicitly states that โ€œsuperior ordersโ€ is not a defense for unlawful actions. The lawmakers Trump targeted are not fringe figures โ€” they are veterans and intelligence officers. Senator Elissa Slotkin served with the CIA. Senator Mark Kelly served as a Navy captain. Representatives Deluzio, Goodlander, Houlahan, and Crow all served our country in uniform or intelligence roles. Their message was patriotic and rooted in military tradition, ending with the Navyโ€™s famous line: โ€œDonโ€™t give up the ship.โ€ I. The Chain of Command Is Already Under Strain This message was timely. Senior JAG officers have raised concerns that recent strikes on small boats near Venezuela may be extrajudicial killings. Eighty-plus non-combatant deaths could expose service members to criminal liability. Yet their legal objections were reportedly overruled โ€” something that puts troops at risk and undermines trust in the chain of command. Meanwhile, Congress is asserting its War Powers Act responsibilities because the administration has conducted military operations for more than 60 days without authorization. Both parties are raising alarms. In this context, it is vital that service members are reminded of their legal obligations. Instead of respecting that, the President demanded arrests, trials, and executions. II. Threatening Veterans in Congress Is an Abuse of Power Fox News legal analyst Andy McCarthy โ€” no liberal โ€” clarified immediately: โ€œThere is no insurrection or sedition without the use of force. Disobeying an unlawful order is required.โ€ The President is therefore calling for capital punishment for lawful speech that restates the controlling law governing the military. If any American citizen posted that a President should be hanged, the Secret Service would rightly investigate. Yet Trump is allowed to threaten sitting Members of Congress with death for fulfilling their constitutional duties. III. Why Congress Must Act A President who calls for the arrest and execution of veterans in Congress for reaffirming military law has violated the oath of office. This undermines civilian oversight of the military, destabilizes command integrity, and endangers the republic. For the sake of our service members, our Constitution, and our national security, I urge you to begin impeachment proceedings immediately.

Trumpโ€™s administration is dismantling key disability employment protections. Itโ€™s the most significant retreat from federal disability rights enforcement in decades.

If we donโ€™t act, a growing number of disabled people could be shut out of the workforce. Iโ€™m fighting back.

A $220 Million DHS Slush Fund for Noemโ€™s Friends Is Corruption Text SIGN PWZEJJ to 50409 โ€” Iโ€™m writing to demand immediate congressional investigations into a sprawling corruption scheme inside the Department of Homeland Security under Secretary Kristi Noem. According to extensive reporting, Noemโ€™s DHS secretly funneled taxpayer money from a $220 million โ€œemergencyโ€ border ad campaign to a Republican consulting firm with deep personal, political, and financial ties to Noem and her senior aides. This isnโ€™t border security โ€” itโ€™s self-dealing with public money. DHS invoked a โ€œnational emergencyโ€ to bypass the competitive bidding rules that protect taxpayers from exactly this kind of misconduct. The resulting contracts exploded into a nine-figure slush fund: $77 million went to a Louisiana GOP ad firm, and a staggering $143 million went to a shell LLC in Delaware formed just days before winning the deal. Hidden beneath these structures was a well-connected political firm โ€” the Strategy Group โ€” run by the husband of Noemโ€™s own chief DHS spokesperson. That firm worked directly on DHS ads, including a Mount Rushmore shoot starring Noem herself on horseback. But the Strategy Group was carefully concealed as a subcontractor, allowing DHS leadership to obscure the money flow to Noemโ€™s allies. Contracting experts describe these ties as clear red flags for ethical violations, conflicts of interest, and potentially unlawful favoritism. As one federal procurement authority put it, โ€œItโ€™s corrupt, is the word.โ€ This scandal didnโ€™t begin at DHS. As governor, Noemโ€™s administration pushed through an $8.5 million state advertising contract for the same firm, despite internal concerns and evidence that senior officials were pressured to steer the deal to Noemโ€™s chosen vendor. That same circle of advisers โ€” including political operative Corey Lewandowski and Noemโ€™s close aides โ€” has now migrated into DHS, where the sums are larger and the oversight weaker. The pattern is unmistakable: public money is being routed to political friends, allies, and former campaign vendors, under cover of manufactured โ€œemergenciesโ€ that conveniently erase transparency. Meanwhile, the shell company receiving the largest portion of DHSโ€™s funds โ€” Safe America Media โ€” has no track record to justify handling a nine-figure federal contract. Its ownerโ€™s own firm reported only five employees during COVID relief filings. Where the $143 million went remains completely undisclosed. This is precisely the kind of corruption that competitive bidding rules, ethics laws, and congressional oversight exist to prevent. No cabinet secretary should have unilateral control over tens of billions in public funds โ€” and Noem has reportedly required that she personally approve any DHS payment over $100,000. That is not a safeguard. It is a warning sign. I urge you to demand: โ€ข Immediate hearings by the House and Senate Homeland Security and Oversight Committees โ€ข Subpoenas for DHS contracting records, including all subcontractors โ€ข A full investigation by the DHS Inspector General into conflicts of interest, improper steering, and misuse of emergency authorities โ€ข A legislative fix limiting emergency contracting powers to prevent future abuse Taxpayers deserve accountability. DHS is not a campaign arm. Congress cannot allow political operatives to siphon public money into private pockets under the guise of โ€œborder security.โ€
