Very grateful for members of staff within the MIT registrar office and the Hayden library distinctive collections team who helped me out when they didn't need to.

An emotional day at MIT. I kept looking for traces and I found them. Hugh C. Simpson, Master of Science and Doctor of Science, and research assistant in the chemical engineering department at MIT 1949-1954. The work he did here set up his groundbreaking work, which led to an OBE in 1994.
