Full text of April 2021 Human Rights Watch report that substantiates claims that Israel systematically commits apartheid and persecution of Palestinians. Both are what are called "crimes against humanity", which is a higher degree of severity under international law than mere "war crimes".

Both apologies refer simply to "mistakes". Whose? Why? How did these mistakes happen exactly? What steps are being taken to ensure accountability for these "mistakes"?

We need to hold German media accountable for its anti-Arab racism. We need robust journalistic integrity.

2a. Tagesschau ran video footage from a Dutch woman that they claimed depicted people, many of Arab descent, violently attacking Israelis.

Case 1 apology: Berlin.de first corrected 1a and apologized for the "mistake" but left 1b intact. Then, after more outcry from activists, they quietly removed 1b but neither apologized for nor explained it.

1a. Berlin.de initially described the award-winning documentary "No Other Land" as having "antisemitic tendencies".
1b. This description also clarified that the film was made before the Hamas Oct. 7 attack, even though the film has nothing to do with Hamas.

In each case, there were TWO transgressions and only ONE of them was retracted and the subject of an apology. German media can be shamed into retracting offensive and false content but they absolutely refuse to acknowledge that anti-Arab racism shapes their framing.
