Authorized 1971 by Minnesota Legislature. Bought abandoned Milwaukee Road rail bed 1981 for $975,000. Development started 1985. Completed 1988. 1998 trail extended from Rushford to Houston. Thanks to everyone who had the foresight to make it & other rail trails possible.🙏

my heated mattress pad bed, wait for the huge snow and then sub zero temps Monday Tuesday, I distract myself with plans this spring for revisiting bike paths once ridden. One of my favorites along the Root River in south eastern Minnesota near The Iowa border:
