San Josef Bay is in Cape Scott Provincial Park, close to the northwest tip of Vancouver Island. I travelled there with friend, and fellow photographer, @drakedyck.bsky.social on January 30th. We arrived with only 1.5 hours of daylight left. Contre-jour lighting can be a challenge.

A deciduous tree is reflected in a pond along with some very blue sky and a snowy mountain peak with a hint if clouds around the summit.
This tree on the banks of Heron Cove near the Pitt River is often used as a perch by the numerous Great Blue Herons in the area. Mount Blanshard (the Golden Ears) is in the background.
