Having a hard time believing this ides of March story, you're telling me senators did something other than send out fundraising texts
*in the matter, even
Oh same here! But I understand the frustration in not getting a choice a matter 😅
I have my issues with Fallas but it's a small price to pay to keep Morrissey out of town 😂
In fairness, Las Fallas is absolutely mental - street parties this time of year regularly go until 4am in the centre with explosions and fireworks and everything! But good riddance to him, the little arsehole
(is that how Jeopardy works, I've literally never watched it)
I'll take 'Genuinely hilarious comments that would sound absolutely batshit in almost any year other than this one' for 200, Alex
Off to give Claude a fatal dose of House of Leaves
"If I was to use ChatGPT for my designs rather than our designer Sean, that's taking money out of the local area into the hands of a multibillionaire ... removing value from the local community and local artists [and] into the hands of some of the richest people in the world."

Whatever your thoughts on CAH, this is a pretty damn classy move ✊
You can tickle the penguins
And get them to laugh
You can just sing a song
To amuse the giraffes
Just a little soft-shoe
Will delight the woodchucks
But try as you might
You can’t
Played through Relooted over the last few days and thoroughly enjoyed it! Go get it for a song for the next 23 hours before it's too late
Real 'I sleep in a big bed with my wife' energy
As Bertine mentions, the very finite-ness of these games is a strength for the genre at large - they don't overstay their welcome and fans get hyped to find other similar titles afterwards. But for the make-line-go-up folks, anything short of total domination is tantamount to failure.
I wonder if a large reason the industry at large doesn't seem to understand this particular idea is because it kind of hinges on sharing space (and money) with other devs/publishers - I bought a number of games last year but from various different entities, not just one singular company.
Anecdotal but this really feels like it hits a particular nail on the head for me - to use the example here, I played a ton of deduction games last year (Blue Prince, Blake Manor, Roottrees, Alan Wake 2 (kinda), etc), because it was a great variety of experiences with some important shared elements
I played the demo for this (a heist-em-up involving stealing and repatriating artifacts from museums and collections) last year and really enjoyed it! Excited to check out the full game.
GM: Charisma check.
Mamdani: [rolls natural 20]
GM: that’s a d6 how did you
Mamdani: [direct to camera] Did you know you can check out board games at your local public library? 😊
DOCTOR: I told him he needed to get out to a show, that was how he would cure his depression.
CHOTINER: So you learned this technique in school?
DR: No, not— listen it was good advice. Pagliacci was in town.
C: Right. Is it standard to give advice before learning a patient’s name?
DR: Now look
He is a national treasure. My musician friends and I have been going 'wep...s'moree' at each other on gigs for years!

Genuinely think 'weird isn't a moral quality' should be a MUCH more common sentiment among people!

people always laugh when bears run away from housecats because they're so much bigger but like. imagine you were in the woods & you ran into a weird little guy that looks kinda like you but like 1/5th the size & his head is shaped weird & he is running toward you full tilt yelling. what would you do
Overheard a kid on the bus - his mate goes, "you wee cunt you fell asleep" and the kid's like "nah, i was just being nonchalant"
Anyway i'm stealing this line for work
Literally the only hole in this idea, as I see it, is that said corporate elites are incredibly fucking stupid themselves, so this wouldn't necessarily put them at a material advantage
My one conspiracy theory (everyone gets a pass on one) is that the corporate elites are actively working to roll back the general spread of literacy, education, and critical thinking, ideally back to around the days of serfdom
