The judge asked the government to file this letter motion and asked these specific questions about jurisdiction and standing. Not to be a Debbie Downer but I don’t think the judge has the authority to appoint a special master. Someone needs to file suit over the Epstein files first.

For those asking why DoJ waited until a Friday to oppose the Special Master request by Massie and Khanna, it’s because the judge told them 3 days ago to file it by Friday.
