History Suggests a Different Outcome - AI & Jevons Paradox I read the recent article by Matt Shumer that’s been doing the rounds, and it made sense. It warns about the impact rapid AI development could have on jobs.

I read the recent viral article by Matt Shumer, it's compelling but I'm just not ready to buy the future he's painting. I wrote this to share my own thoughts on our pending future with AI...

You should see the offices I work in. People with headphones on, in Teams calls, chatting all day long 🀣

I can see a future where we instruct work or solve problems using voice instead of/as well as typing. But, agreed, social norms would have to adapt for that to become comfortable.

Jidoka or autonomation is the idea from Toyota of automation with a human touch. We can’t rely on the machine alone, human intervention is required.

What term are we using in the AI world? … cause it needs a human touch even more.

I asked an LLM best answer I got was β€˜collaborative intelligence’.
