As someone who has beat all the DS amongst many other soulslike, this is the only game which I cannot get myself to play.

Team cherry knew exactly what they were doing. It was no accident or lack of experience. And purposefully gatekeeping a game like this is shameful, and I shall not stand for it.

It ends up being that a lot of mechanics in the game are bearable, as long as you're pretty good. But the entire game is designed to beat you while you're down, making a frustrating experience even worse, and wasting people's time with rosaries/shard farming and long runbacks.

If the runbacks have a significant challenge, such as arenas, it essentially makes the runback part of the bossfight.

But an empty runback wastes time, nothing else. It's disrespectful, and, like a lot of other mechanics in Silksong, is much harsher the worse you are at the game.

My biggest issue with the game outside of the difficulty is in the runbacks

Plenty of people have spoken about their difficulty, but for me it's different. It's the fact a lot of them aren't difficult!
They're just really long and empty. It essentially turns the runback into a long death animation!
