According to the Governance (bids.neuroimaging.io/governance.h...) adopted by the community in 2019, the Steering Group is intended to reflect the diversity of experiences and perspectives within the BIDS community.

The BIDS Steering Group is responsible for approving and advancing BIDS extensions through the BIDS standard process, as well as more general decisions regarding the standard. The BIDS Steering Group aims to preserve the longevity and sustainability of the BIDS standard.

We are excited to announce the opening of the nomination period for electing two new Steering Group members! The nomination period opens today, September 3 and will close on Friday, September 20 at 11:59pm (Anywhere on Earth; UTC-12; time.is/Anywhere_on_...).
