His facial expression went from condescending to slightly embarrassed (to his credit?) so fast. He moved away from our table VERY quickly.
I shook his hand and then he just expectantly looked at me until I eventually said, “So, I’m just gonna scooch right on past ya to my seat there!” it had not seemed to cross his mind that I would have approached for any reason other than seeking an audience with him lol.
Now feels like the time to share about when I was at an event on Capitol Hill and got up to get a drink, and when I came back, Markwayne Mullin was leaning on my chair and talking to someone at my table. I politely stood to the side, and when he was done, he turned and introduced himself to me.
You KNOW they searched for a more miserable-looking photo of him and just couldn’t find it.
This happened to me with a number I have to call from work all the time. Imagine my chagrin when the number I normally press to talk to a human took me to automation! I had to hang up and re-listen to the menu to figure out how to get to a human! They really got me.
The insane thing is that JD probably thought he would actually come 😭😭😭
