je confirme surtout qu il n y a pas de volonté de ne pas supporter les BSD. si nous les devs BSD n y allons pas, alors il n y a pas de support qui arrivera magiquement. a contrario de projets ouvertement hostiles à la portabilité ce qui n est pas le cas de wayland à ma connaissance.

c'est possible de vérifier avant de dire que wayland ne tourne pas sous les BSD? ça fait des années qu'on l'a sous FreeBSD et à ma connaissance (j'ai vu passé des choses récemment) le support est WIP côté Open et côté Net.

euh, ou personne n'utilise wayland je ne sais pas d'où tu sors ça mais comme déjà dit plusieurs fois, je tourne exclusivement sous Wayland sous FreeBSD depuis au moins 4 ans... il n'y a pas plus ou moins de linuxerie dans wayland que dans les autres projets. (hint il y en a).

c'est le cas depuis FreeBSD 14.2-RELEASE/ lists.freebsd.org/archives/fre..., j'ai annoncé en mai la généralisation a toutes les archis mastodon.social/@_bapt_/1145...

oui c'est mon point, si on ne s'y met pas le support ne vient pas, mais peut on les blamer pour ça ?, quand on s'y est mis les patchs ont été mergé, Net et Open s'y sont mis récemment, et ça à l'air de pas trop mal se passer aussi avec upstream. oui il y a des linuxeries, tout comme dans Xorg

2/ Je tourne exclusivement sous Wayland sous FreeBSD depuis au moins 2020, peut-être avant, mais il faudrait que j'aille creuser, donc oui, on a le support, si on s'y met, ça passe bien.

Je vais juste corriger concernant BSD:
1/ le support Xorg depuis que je le suis càd la passation xfree86 <-> Xorg, ne supporte pas mieux les BSD que Wayland. Quand on s'est mis à pousser des patchs pour Wayland, on n'a pas eu plus de pushback

okay it's settled, BSD > Linux

si, si c'est bien là les VM j'ai du lire trop vite ;) les VM cloudinit friendly sont celles appelées BASIC-CLOUDINIT (a partir de 14.x)

Attention y a cloudinit le machin en python, et le tout nouveau nuageinit intégré à FreeBSD, ça existe depuis la 14.1 donc c'est quand même récent, le support est minimaliste aka juste ce dont j'ai eu besoin :D, je suis ouvert à rajouter des choses à la demande. (et il faudrait que je documente).

Désolé d'avoir été si long à répondre, j'ai fait quelques commentaires sur le gist. Petite question, pourquoi ne pas prendre les images VM fournies par le projet ? En plus depuis 14.1 j'ai rajouté un support cloudinit basic natif (ok donc pas en 13.5 🙈), sinon sympa le script !
