I plugged it in today and hit the KU6V 1.25m repeater just fine. However, I have in the past had issues where my little tone board hack would engage the repeater itself fine but wasn't strong enough to engage the REST of the repeaters in the network.

Also, sideband TX power seems low. So.

It puts out ~ 10W, and I put it in a box a few years ago with a little control PCB and ALC detector to detect SWR/power issues.

I should open it up again and finish designing some clean PCBs to control it.

Anyway.

So, the TS-430S has a transverter output jack which helpfully gives you all the TX/RX/PTT signals you need, and disables the on-board amplifier so you just use the transverter.

And I'm using one of those ukranian transverters from transverters-store (which has since shut down, cry.)

Anyway.

Ok, so the TS-670 QRP setup is working fine, and although 10W isn't a lot of power on 6W, it's a "adrian wants to build a collection of period radios" correct for the setup.

I'll have to go find or make a 100W 50MHz amplifier.

Anyway, next up - the TS-430S 220MHz transverter setup.
