I so often read things that tell me I’m invisible at this age. And that by being invisible, I’m freed. But that idea still centers the male gaze.
I’m free because I choose to be, not because someone doesn’t see me anymore.

I saw The Last Show Girl last night. Yes, it's an indictment of capitalism & what it does to women but Pamela Anderson's character is not a victim. She loves what she does. But does she love it because she was trained to love the male gaze as a beautiful woman? Or? Any thoughts?

Loved this novel -- fantastic world building, wonderful mystery deftly handled, neurodivergent main characters - loved Ana Dolabra - and often funny. Can't wait for next book in the series.
