Spectacular ‘Salome’ from LSO/Pappano at the Barbican this evening. Asmik Grigorian astonishing in the title role but all the soloists were firing on extra cylinders & the orchestra threatened to dislodge the circle. Immense!

So excited to receive this blu-ray set. We were lucky enough to see this brilliant Ring cycle at Opernhaus Zürich last year, so to have such a handsome souvenir is rather special.

Amazing day at Opernhaus Zürich!
✅ 2pm. ‘L’Orfeo’: moving, powerful staging, beautifully performed.
✅ Tasty risotto at ‘Lulu’ (not pictured due to near-instant demolition).
✅ 8pm. ‘Elias’: thought-provoking dramatisation with Christian Gerhaher at his haunting, commanding best.
