It seems like every new release I pick up these days is written in present tense. I find it distracting - what’s with this trend? And am I the only one who prefers the more traditional past tense when reading?

How is it 2024 and Microsoft Word STILL can’t reliably use Australian / UK English for spell checking?

Just received a sales call in response to an insurance query. After I hung up on them I looked them up in my email.

The call was legit. The quote I requested was in February 2021.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but POV means point of view. If you’re making a video that is actually of you doing the thing you’re saying “POV: …” that isn’t your Point of View, it’s just a video of you doing the thing.

My greatest struggle with a three-monitor setup is continually being unable to work out where I left my mouse cursor.

Logging into BlueSky is now giving me Morpho vibes since watching The Big Door Prize.

I want to start a new game show where one round is called “Sarcasm or Stupidity.”

You get presented with Tweets or Reddit comments, and have to correctly guess whether it’s written sarcastically, or the writer actually believes what they’re saying.

Not yet sure how to confirm.

Two weeks later, I’ve just learned about Bernard Hill’s passing. Great to see how good the social media algorithms are at recognising what info I want to receive and sending it to my feed…

The problem with trying to write a #TTRPG setting is my obsession with telling stories. Every new beat or NPC who features somewhere suddenly has me inspired to start a novel to tell their story in detail.
