i have 10000000000000 critiques of XIV's current state but i will never rag on the game from a place of overall disdain/disengagement/hatred. i love the game, i want it to be better and succeed. but so many ppl let their bitterness overtake them, and they lose sight of the real problems lmao.

as a diehard lifer who has stayed subbed more than not out of the last 11 years, ppl who legit dont even like the game complain about stuff like this baffles me. CBU3 have said they encourage ppl to take breaks & go do other shit. the housing system is one of the only tethers & its in OUR control!!

idk how long you've been on hrt but it took me several years (4+) before it happened. also prog eventually helped a bit, then injections later on made an enormous difference in intensity as well.

brains crave novelty and variable complexity, its one of the dumbest traits. if i could just sit & camp on the long, complex, high-paying but very same-y projects & do full-time hours, we would not be in so much trouble all the time (or at all), its fuckin maddening. and i /have/ medication lol...

so then as soon as i could i swapped to something shorter and slower, with a lower overall difficulty, but lower pay, thinking i could just do volume work instead. but that hasn't worked out either after about a month of this. i guess i need to go back and forth or something... i hate that adhd

i wonder how much my struggles at work are tied to the structure of each project cycle. for a couple weeks, i was able to catch up really fast and do well for a short time because we had this really high paying contract for a very complex project that had longer sessions, but i burnt out too fast...
