07.12.2025 11:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'd like to know how many uni administrators have even the slightest awareness of these harms. How is it not utterly egregious to impose novel technologies at scale without so much as considering possible negative consequences? Either they understand nothing about AI or they are fine with the risks.

Text reads: "DIGITAL SERVICES ACT. First report on the most prominent and recurrent systemic risks on very large online platforms."
The EU has published a world-first risk landscape report under the #DSA.
It flags systemic risks on big platforms β from illegal content to generative AIβ and tracks how platforms are addressing them.
More transparency. More accountability.
A safer online space for all.

Zuckerberg to testify in landmark social media trial - BBC News
My new research project examines the digital technologies partnerships that Africa signs with Global North partners. They come with copy and paste strategies paying no attention to differences in context and needs. They commercialise public services, risking national data to commercial interests.

Celebrating my β¦βͺβ¦βͺ@WitsPoliticsβ¬β© student, #TintswaloChauke, for winning the Honours Research Essay Prize. It was a pleasure supervising her dissertation on State Intelligence in Ghana during the Cold War. She is brilliant and among the few who got distinctions in research in our department. πππ
