I've always found it annoying when apps ask for permissions they don't really need, but it's honestly kinda creepy when they keep doing it after you decline every time over a period of years.

I particularly like jokes in a peer review where I’m forced to be really critical because I hope it conveys a message like “look, i‘m being tough here but it’s nothing personal. You still deserve a chuckle.”

When I do trainings on data visualization, I make sure to mention that all the same principles in viz also apply to slides. Use one big message per slide. Don't make me think hard to see it. Keep it simple and sparse. Highlight the key point. Use colors wisely. Clutter is distracting. Etc!

You know that thing Coco Chanel said about accessories?

We should all do that but with about 50% of the text we put in slide decks.
