Its story is not a simple one, in its time it has been home to over ten different schools! But its saga offers us a neat case study of the ebb and flow of secondary education in the city. It is also a happy story as it has bucked the trend of many of its contemporaries and avoided the fate of conversion into private flats. Instead it is now enjoying a well-earned educational and cultural renaissance.
