4 frame comic. a street reporter approaches a man wearing a big hoodie, asking : sir! how much do you think
we should hold feminism
accountable for the male
loneliness epidemic?
he replies :
there is no meaningful
difference between the
rates of loneliness between
men and women*. the reason
we're always talking about
men's is that they're making
it everyone else's problem.
A note under the frame adds :
*in fact, several studies (graham &
ong, 2024; cigna & morning consult,
2021) suggest that more women
experience loneliness than men.
In the 3rd frame, he says :
according to research*,
the primary reason that
men isolate themselves is
because they feel incapable
of living up to rigid gendered
expectations. the far-right
exploits that vulnerability
to radicalize young men.
another note under the frame adds a source :
*the state of american men 2025,
equimundo: center for masculinities
and social justice.
in the last frame, he makes a peace sign with his fingers and says : if anything, feminism is
the solution to men's loneli-
ness. let's deconstruct the
gender norms that hurt every-
one, before these techno-
fascists divide us even more.

If you have any recommendations, I'm all ears -- tho I'd be okay if the foreshadowing is less than subtle, too xD

AI generated content disclosure via Arc Raider's Steam page:

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

During the development process, we may use procedural- and AI-based tools to assist with content creation. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team.

Not to be the fun police but I do hope people know that Arc Raiders does use generative AI for voice acting, and by supporting the game you're letting higher-ups know that this is an okay practice.

They try to downplay this on the Steam store page by describing the AI usage as vaguely as possible.

We Have Enough Dead Friends
By Lena Oleanderson

Come over. The doors are open,
my flat's a mess and
so is my heart
but the doors are always open.
Come over. I will make soup,
probably from frozen but
the important thing is
we will both eat.

You don't have to be dying,
but if you are,
or you feel like you are,
or if living's been hard,
call me, and I will show up.
It doesn't have to be that bad,
it doesn't have to be bad at all,
but if it is, please call.

Do you want me to do the groceries?
Do you want me to mop the floors?
Do you need to be held;
you don't have to be dying to be held.
If you want me to be there, I want to.

I'm on the bathroom floor again,
and breathing is hard,
and eating's been hard, and sleeping,
the world is a laden thing
rolling around on my chest lately.
Just being alive is heavy tonight,
but we have enough dead friends.
Come over.

I don't think I've come across a poem that taps into my ethos when it comes to navigating queer community within the context of a hostile world as much as "We Have Enough Dead Friends" by Lena Oleanderson.

I strive to make my home a sanctuary where other faggots feel safe and cared for.

It freaking begins. I said them going after trans people was their test to see how much they can get away with, and I'll say this again: They don't care where in LGBTQ+ you are, if you're not straight, they want you gone.

Fight like hell.

Your music is inspiring. Despite struggling with making music for almost a decade, and often thinking I just can't do it, sometimes listening to your tracks reminds me why I want to try: so I can make things that affect people the way that your tracks hit me.

I genuinely love this idea, just cuz I know enough music theory to care what key a track is in but *not* enough to have memorized the circle of fifths, so when DJing, the Camelot Wheel is both very useful and also a frustrating obfuscation lol. Thank you for creating this! πŸ’™

Idunno. Conflating these two things in any way just feels like a bad idea overall. I'm tired and this is hard to put into words lol, but I hope you get what I'm getting at xD.

It's also, arguably, important to be able to compartmentalize how you feel about a thing from the objective reality of that thing. Example in reverse: for lots of people, their childhood love for Harry Potter means they can't accept that their support of the franchise today harms trans people.

By saying that it's only legitimate to dislike someone when they're a terrible person, we start to normalize the opposite -- the idea that if the vibes are off, clearly there must be a deep dark *reason* for it. That seems... dangerous to me.

I'm seeing these memes increasingly frequently, and I just wanna say --

It's okay to just dislike something or someone. It's a really valuable skill to be able to dislike someone and also accept that there's nothing wrong with them or bad about them.

There's something really incredible about "truly wireless" earbuds. Even with the weird, relatively low bandwidth Bluetooth, they manage to (usually) keep the audio in perfect phase. Very small batteries, radios, drivers, all in perfect synchrony. Wild.

That said... this is also a very creepy technology with deeply concerning privacy, security, and ethical implications, and I wouldn't use it for that reason alone. But aside from that, I think the *concept* could either enhance or detract from our humanity, depending on how the users use it.

Similarly, if I had a bracelet that took note of every time I said to a friend "oh cool, I'll have to look into that", and relayed that info back to me later, I wouldn't have to rely on my very weak memory or manual artifact creation in order to recall those opportunities for further connection.

23.10.2025 22:24 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

These moments tear me away from in-the-moment connection, and into artifact creation/retrieval.

So I love tools like Google Maps Timeline. It's autonomously creating artifacts that I can look back on, and call to mind rich memories simply by seeing where I was at any given moment in the past.

23.10.2025 22:24 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

When I'm hanging with friends, I somewhat despise every moment that I "need" to take out my phone. Whether it's to look up something I want to share, to take a note of something my friend told me about that I want to check out later, whatever.

23.10.2025 22:24 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Despite carrying around a phone with a camera everywhere I go, I rarely think to take pictures when I'm doing/seeing something delightful. I want to be "in the moment", and not worrying about creating an artifact so that I can better remember it later.

I see what you mean, honestly... but as someone who sees AI as generally a blight on society, if this could be created *ethically* (which I doubt it can), I would love a product like this, at least in theory. Let me see if I can explain haha.
