Crap sleep patterns means I find myself at 6:30am listening to a 12mins unaccompanied performance of Lord Bateman which is going into this weekβs episode of @intheroud.bsky.social.
Have run out of films to watch? No, but Iβm just getting a head start on an already packed day.

The problem with trying to have a proper indoors day off after being away for a few days and getting home late, is that thereβs no food in the house, and because itβs a Sunday, the shops donβt open until 10am or 11am.
I did not think this throughβ¦

Gearing up for teaching my 7th (out of 10) session for the EFDSS Monday Folk Singers course.
Am I prepping? Or am I procrastinating by listening to the soundtrack to the bafflingly genius live-action musical adaptation of Popeye (1980) starring Robin Williams & Shelley Duvall?

Iβve been sent a review copy of a new dense academic folk book to read because Iβm interviewing the author on the podcast soon.
But itβs an ebook that I can only open on my laptop. So I have to spend EVEN MORE time in my day staring at my computer screen. Greatβ¦

How I spent my afternoon.
Digitising a LP soundtrack (which never got a CD reissue) to a musical which barely anyoneβs heard of.
Peter Bogdanovich, directer of Whatβs Up, Doc? (the greatest comedy film ever) made a 1975 musical film using Cole Porter songs. Everyone hated it, itβs wonderful!!!

Image shows a screenshot of Matt Quinn and Helen Lindley recording another episode of the In The Roud folk song podcast. Helen is on the left of the image and is wearing a white t shirt, silver pendant and a white, yellow, and green paisley jacket (part of her large collection of patterned jackets!) Matt is on the right of the image wearing headphones and a black T-shirt shirt. Both are sitting in front of microphones.
No sooner has season 4 episode 2 of the @intheroud.bsky.social folk song podcast been released than @mattquinnmusic.bsky.social asked me back to record another one! They're great fun to do, even if we always spend so much time talking that Matt has a huge editing task π

I know there were great horrors released in every year, but 1973 seems to be particularly important.
3 phenomenal works of horror cinema.
Iβll be seeing The Wicker Man in a few weeks, so tonightβs itβs a double feature of Donβt Look Now and The Exorcist here in the Quinn House.

The band is melodeons (dad) plus fiddle, harmonica/percussion, banjo and bass. But which instrument am I depping for this time?

But itβs now April and Iβve managed to get rid of approx half a stone again.
Good job too because this silver jacket is my all time favourite jacket (and Iβve owned lots of jackets).
