Republicans have been quick to exploit Trump's war as an excuse to insist Democrats drop their opposition to new funding for ICE and Border Patrol. Demand that your Members of Congress refuse to expand Trump's capacity to terrorize our communities just because he decided to bomb Iran.
In a sane world, the firing of Kristi Noem would be a reason to celebrate. But we don't live in a sane world and we have every reason to assume that Trump's lawless ICE and border operation will continue apace...now with a male face at the helm.
Just thinking about what we could do with a billion dollars a day that doesn’t include bombing people.
This war isn’t an emergency that requires us to give the president more latitude. It’s a monstrosity that requires that judges, lawmakers and above all citizens work to preserve the integrity of elections and the republic.

Every Member of Congress needs to understand that the upcoming War Powers Resolution vote will be a defining vote — just like the Iraq War vote that defined a generation of politicians.
But our elected officials won’t understand how significant the vote is unless they hear and feel the outrage now.
