Keeping it short and sweet, the Switch 2 Edition is not worth the buy if you already have the game elsewhere, it is just giving you content they should have given AGES ago bc they DID for folks in Japan.

Very stark and different post from what I have posted and want to post going forward, but I just learned this myself and as someone who LOVED Disgaea 7, it upset me immensely. Every other version of the localized release is lacking content that is *over a year old*.

For the two people out there that care about this, here's a side-by-side comparison to see how much of a change/improvement there was between this 7-and-a-half month period.

I've changed so much about Arianna that I had to make a new ref to reflect the most notable ones, so here we are!
Now I'd say she integrates a bit better into the Mario world now :)

I cannot express enough to you how much POWER your reposts have on Bluesky. Because Bluesky doesn't have an algorithm on your following page, every person who follows you will see anything and everything you repost. So even if you don't have a ton of followers, your reposts are still STRONG.

I get this, especially considering I myself didn’t quite manage to outdo myself as compared to last year in the way I wanted to. There is always next year, though! Don’t feel obligated to do something if the motivation isn’t apparent! (Ironic, coming from me, but still…)

I think someday in the future, I may revisit this save to try the Challenge Node since I never finished the Gauntlet battles, but for now, I think I’ll change my focus to other things again, notably art since I have a few things to do atm

All in all, still a very fun game, even if (and many may dislike me for saying this) I don’t think it’s the best game in the series. It’s definitely up there, but I wouldn’t call it the best. I’d put it about on-par with Brothership at best, if not slightly lower.

First attempt at the Challenge Medal version didn’t go so well. Saw an attack the Dark Star Core never even got to use on my attempt w/o the medal, and it was JUST shy of KOing Luigi (as seen here) While I did live that attack and tried to build back up from there…

…I failed to beat the Core and it retreated to Dark Bowser, who proceeded to murder Bowser with two punches that did far more than I was anticipating, which forced me to use a Retry Clock (not like I was gonna make use of one otherwise, so may as well) Beat it my second try, though!

Extras
I curbstomped the final boss normally so I redid it with the Challenge Medal, and uh… I didn’t anticipate the damage it’d dish out would be so high. It was nerve-wrecking, but really fun! Did show me I may be OKAY at dodging things in these games…

The other minigames were pretty alright, though. And that theme for it slaps so hard, seriously. Music is great, as always. Name a game in this series where the music sucks, you can’t.

Brief tangent aside, the minigames were alright. I don’t mind them too much :v

That and some of Bowser’s Special/Brawl Attacks are just kinda hard to do with any consistency anyway, which only makes it worse. I’m sure I’d have figured SOMETHING out if I bashed my head on the wall hard enough, but it would’ve put me off the game for a while afterward. (3)

I didn’t even complete any of hers, because the finicky and sometimes confusing visuals made it hard to get a decent rhythm for some that should arguably be fine enough to understand. Hopefully others in the series past BiS (excluding Brothership ofc) don’t require the touch screen again. (2)

Minigames
I’ll just say it outright that this is fairly biased bc of a skill issue, but those special attack minigames weren’t very fun. They seem p nice at first, but get very tedious if not frustrating very quickly, ESPECIALLY the ones from Broque Madame. (1)

And the Dark Star… I wish it came a bit earlier and showed how much damage it could do on its own. I’ll admit this may be me being a bit unfair having played Brothership before this game and seeing how much of an effect the main villain did in that entry, but it really didn’t get to shine much.

I think my biggest point of contention are the villain(s) and the optional minigames. Namely the ones with Broque Madame for the latter.

Villains
I’ll be blunt… Fawful on his own isn’t super compelling. He works, but… that’s about it. He just did his thing, then left out stage right at the end.

I enjoyed the combat, liked the scavenge for the beans, and thought the story was alright, albeit had some points I was a bit mixed on (mostly the bits that were almost blatantly the writer’s barely disguised fe-)

Beat this game just now, was all in all a very fun experience from start to finish (with a few hiccups, admittedly) and I wouldn’t be opposed to doing it again
