I love you and thankful you are here

Very long periods.
I often work in silence.
I drive in silence a lot.

So major health insurance make significant policy changes in several states and a health insurance CEO is murdered on the same day. This is why I put on my tinfoil hat

Being a therapist and a clinical social worker is the only career that I enjoy and can do. And yet the meaning of its “work” has to be change for me. Thats my mission.

For work is not my dna. Living life is.

At this stage I realize in this season I have to refine what my success and “work” looks like

I don’t want to work. I want to live

The wealth of my time near the water, in the sun, moving my body physically and presently— healthy meals that I have the energy to make, while traveling places that remind me how small I am in the beautiful world that is so big and vast

That’s what I seek, that’s rich to me.

I don’t care about Birken bags, red bottoms, foreign cars, or fancy watches/jewelry.

Working for those things or chasing those things don’t fill me.

I love being a therapist and social worker. It’s my calling, it’s my passion, it’s my gift, it’s my job AND the working part of it based on capitalism isn’t for me.

My passions are things that fill me not necessarily fill my financial needs.

I enjoy slowness. I enjoy easing into my life. I enjoy being present and having a chance to catch my breath and breathe.

Partly me and partly my neurodivergence.

Through healing, maturing, and becoming more attuned with my authentic self I realize that isn’t me. That’s not what works for my nervous system, for my mind, for my peace.

After some many changes in the last couple years I’ve come to a realization that was done out of survival.

The grind of exhaustion based of family trauma, capitalism, and societal norms and expectations of “success”

I’ve been working since I was 14/15 years old. I’ve built my life on the ideology of hustle hard sleep when you die.

I did the American dream — Got my BA, got my Masters etc

I’ve worked at times 1-3 jobs at a time

I’ve done the whole work 50+ hours a week and do all again.

In the last couple years I’ve come to a true realization that might come to some :

I don’t enjoy working and don’t truly desire to work.

Work is not my DNA. Living life is.

Always that therapist, that girl ✨

My last week of work has been hard but I just got the sweetest email that left me in tears from a client.

Saying goodbye to clients has been so hard this week and they have given me the best words to remind me of the season I’m walking into — purpose.

The best is yet to come.

Don’t give up.
