Sopes w/Cesina, and learned "Salsa chips (12oz)" apparently means salsa and *no* chips, instead of chips used with salsa.

YouTube, and bed before 12 again. Hoping to develop this habit, maybe make time to do stuff before work instead of before bed.

Slept alright, woke up early-ish. (Tbh, nobody would call it early. Early for me.) Spent 2 hours chasing down a small memory leak problem, a bugfix puzzle distracting me from real work. Then I did actual tickets and got shit done. Stand-ups. I like work when I forget everyone outside of my team.

Went to bed late again, slept in again. Dug into item level issues on Undermine Exchange. Wanted to finish state/local taxes or get stuff on GitHub, but item bonuses remain insane.

Misc leftovers for dinner. Couldn't watch the Superbowl, no way to get NBC. YouTube instead. Bed early tonight!

Went to bed late, then couldn't sleep. Woke up late, but before noon.

Waffles, dishes. Tried to replicate some OE addon issues. Did my federal taxes, like an adult. Installed battery tracker on the Evo. It's flippin' cold out there, like 0F. Spent silly money at Wawa. ST:SA, YouTube.

Decent day today. Woke up tired, but went through some PRs then had time to concentrate on a chewy set of problems. Nothing super fun or satisfying, really, just liked having the consecutive time to get a bunch of necessary code written. No meetings. 🎉

Fixed one bug, maybe, before stakeholders meeting, then standups. So many meetings on sprint start day, ugh. But it's behind me now.

Red Robin for dinner, back in the Polestar. Moved the Evo out of the garage without a jump start -- every start is celebrated. Pazcki, some YouTube, and bit of DDR.

Stayed up late watching DS9, then couldn't sleep. I pushed my alarms and 10am meeting an hour before falling asleep.

Had my (now 11am) meeting, then another, with coworkers to set up their sprints. Barely got some tickets set up for myself before a quick lunch, then the sprint start meeting.

Fixed a few problems today instead of getting tickets ready for next sprint. Whoops. But it's okay. Sprint retro today was fine. About as ordinary a day as we can get lately.

Picked up the Polestar in the afternoon. Had leftover pizza for dinner. Then some YouTube. Yawn.

Couldn't code yesterday, had PRs to review, bug tickets to write/investigate, then sprint demos and preplanning.

Square pizza for dinner (Evo started fine, yay!), then some YouTube. Napped on the couch an hour before bed, then went straight to bed.

Anyway, a D4 PTR landed right at end-of-day, thanks Blizz. Getting the structs was oddly difficult this time, so I got tacos from Moe's in the Evo while they worked on that. Was good to highway drive it again, but still nervous about its battery. D4 build went smooth after. YouTube, DDR.

Back to work. Mostly quiet day, with a few people out sick, and I was keeping my head down getting some tickets done.

Eventually I was pinged about some change being made. I asked some questions, and obviously upset the other party by them. Why do they seek me out only for me to aggravate them?

Got stuff done around the house today. Bills, laundry, some cleaning. Posted another repo on GitHub.

Panera for late lunch/early dinner. Evo started w/o jump pack after charging all night, yay.

Watched third ep of Starfleet Academy. On paper I shouldn't like it, but by the end of the ep, I do. 🤔

I'm kinda numb to all the frustrations today. Just walking into the wind, no sense in complaining. In fact, I wish all my other problems would only cost $500 and be solved in half a week.

Finally got to Dad's, got his new drive installed in his PC so he could dual-boot Linux Mint. Our conversations avoid any unpleasantness, and stick to only light topics.

Polestar tire needs replacing, over $500, and not until Wednesday. So no Wawa trip today, had some local take-out pasta instead.

Went to bed late, woke up late. Started making breakfast with the bird on my shoulder. Left the house to visit my dad, but the rear tire on the Polestar was completely flat. Refilled it, then went to start the Evo, but its battery was too low. Jumped the Evo, limped both to the tire place.

Things are bad enough in the immediate environment, but I wonder how much world events are also weighing on us. In many ways, we're all stuck on a slow train to a place we don't wanna go.

Made a frozen plant-based something-or-other for dinner. Meh. Watched Clarkson's Farm; they're in Summertime.

The end of a difficult work week. At least it didn't seem to drag, I always felt a day behind where I actually was. Maybe because my sprint's always a little behind. Having lots of 1-on-1 convos with coworkers, just supporting each-other. Everyone's a little short-tempered, top to bottom.

I should get to bed earlier. Not much to say except a bummer of an all-hands meeting today. 2025 was not good for us. I'm not encouraged things will turn around this year.

Five Guys for dinner. Started putting things on GitHub, hope to continue that.

Not much to say. Managed to catch up on most of my pending non-coding work in the morning, and despite a couple meetings and a D4 patch, got some coding tickets done after lunch. Hope to do more tomorrow.

Stayed home, tho the alley was plowed. Leftovers for dinner. Jet Lag finale. A little ONI.

Drove to post office, CVS, and picked up some huaraches. Most side streets are still snow-covered and thus a bit slippy and narrow, and my alley is still unplowed (except for what I cleaned yesterday). Some YouTube and late-night DDR, and yes I'll drink water this time -- no DDR hangovers here.

Another day of little coding. Reviewed PRs, got sidetracked by folks changing Jira configs, then finally did my 2025 self-evaluation and set goals for myself and my team for 2026. (Yes, I have a few devs who report to me, kinda. It still feels weird.) Developed a late-day headache.

Chicken pot pie for dinner. Used the gas snowblower on the alley, since it still wasn't plowed. Then some YouTube. Should've went to bed earlier.

Still frustrated by work. Feel like I do 7 inconsequential things in a day, have 10 more things to do, and I can't concentrate or move the needle. Got a bit snarky with someone about cutting corners and regretted opening my mouth about it.

Snow daaaay. Slept in, cleared the driveway of like 8" of snow, did laundry, played ONI. Cleared driveway again after sunset for another 6" or so (though the alley's unplowed so why bother). Eggs, toast, and beans for dinner. Little more ONI, watched Starfleet Academy ep 2, then YouTube.

Then got some gas for that snowblower (potentially). Hopefully the electric snowblower will be sufficient, but who knows. Back home.

An hour later, out again to the other house to check on the heating and stuff. Home again. Light dinner and some YouTube.

Got home, realized my gloves were missing. Probably fell out of the car when I opened the car door at Primo. Ugh. Ate my sandwich, then back out.

Got some draft blockers for the back door and basement/garage door. Visited Dad to borrow some Ego batteries. All the way back to Primo for my gloves.

Lots of running around today. Winter storm tomorrow.

Slept in a bit, woke up, had a waffle, then out to pick up Instacart groceries. Ordered a cheesesteak from Primo to pick up on the way home. Why does it take them like 40 minutes to make a couple sandwiches?

Late dinner from Red Robin, and picked up some Crumbl cookies. Bit of YouTube.

Overall I didn't feel too down today, maybe because I never got into any real work, so I never felt particularly interrupted by anything. When I'm trying to get something done, I get frustrated by distractions.

Woke up a little late. Reviewed a bunch of PH project designs and specs. Met to go over the (lengthy) project design process, but I had a good attitude through most of it. Asked more PH spec questions in slack, then some PRs after 6pm. All of that to say, made zero progress on any of my own tickets.

Woke w/headache again. Should've had more water after last night's DDR.

Sprint prep, met w/boss and co-lead for decent discussion. Still a little doom-y. Survived gauntlet of sprint meetings.

Leftovers for dinner. Tried calling Dad, busy signals, emailed. YouTube. Lil' ONI to end the day.
