Writing the basics of the lore for my mech wargame and realising this is just Dune again

You could make a ttrpg called slopquest and have barely playable mechanics (or copied 1:1 from another game) and if the graphics look cool enough people will treat it like the second coming of Jesus Christ

While I appreciate how inclusive and thoughtful of others' needs most left wing spaces are I fear the sanitization of leftist groups have domesticated them

Mordheim is so cool but Warhammer Fantasy is kinda boring I should hack it and make an Age of Sigmar version

The lore tells you about how abhuman auxiliary units are routinely alienated from other units, how they're given faulty equipment, how their rations and pay are docked, and how the ratlings are forced to make themselves useful and only trust in each other and to form alternative chains of command...

Just got the new Kill Team Brutal and Cunning box and reading the lore dossier made me painfully aware of how almost good but not quite Games Workshop is at writing.

Yes this is about the ratlings.

And he's right to say it. Although I would adjust the lens; it's not the obsession with dice and XP, it's the obsession with murder and hoarding.

The worldbuilding thing is exactly correct though.

The Druid:

Even though they have antivaxxer vibes, druids would be decent parents, they're wise, they can heal, they have pets, etc...

Definetly likes their animal companion better than you.

Good intentions but very overprotective, thinks they're always right and worries too much. Moralistic and judgemental parent.

Has anger issues but can control them and never directs them towards you. You know they would do anything for you but you're terrified of ever making them angry

Someone who's always communing with spirits, the classic emotionally absent parent. Definetly likes their primary apparition better than you.

THE most important skill for a GM is improvisation. I don't care about how good your plotlines are, your mastery of the rules or how well written your NPCs are, if you can't improvise your games are going to suck.
