You have a fire infuse tool that buffs your overall damage, a poison charm and a lightning charm for tools/silk skills, and a charm that buffs your damage but makes you squishier.

I think it's the most leniently timed counter in the universe, it makes ff16 dodge look tight.

I used the greatsword parry over actually shielding 80% of the time.

It's serviceable in its gameplay that it is fun enough to play, especially when proper action games are so sparse in this era, but it fails to be remotely interesting in any other aspect. It's a sin that Kazer is the most generic guy ever because if he had a modicum of charisma it'd be a lot better.

I keep thinking about the comment of Metroidvanias and Soulslikes not working together because some of the best in recent memory have been a mix of both.

The exploration was my least favorite part of the first game, with the only part of the map I really liked being path of pain, so I immediately preferred this game just from Hornet's movement. Even moreso when they started adding more involved platforming.

If you don't have SC you want to pull on her, ideally you want her at LB1 as she doesn't give great stats at 0 uncap but she's still usable if you only get the one copy. She's going to be a meta stamina card for years and is a lot more important than an uma to have.

My sole reason to check this place is to drag you out of the light.

I don't think junctions are confusing, just boring. You have more incentive to avoid interacting with the combat as much as possible and rely on junctions for your stats instead which is a poor design decision imo. If you don't understand it the game's slow and if you do it's too easy to exploit.

This is what I also assume but I thought the game sucked even as a kid.

It's such a poorly executed game. I don't know how some people claim it as the best spinoff.
