We have done a LOT of work to this house. If you have read his books, you know his father Lou was thrifty, often fixing things himself.

the whole thing just kind of worked out.
When we learned it was THE house from so many of David Sedaris’ essays, it was super exciting. Having grown up in a big Greek family in Raleigh myself, my siblings and I grew up reading David’s books and feeling like we KNEW the Sedaris family. 🧵

At the very end of 2021, we bought the childhood home of David and Amy (and Lisa, Gretchen, Paul, Tiffany) Sedaris from their father’s estate. We had no idea it was their home until we were under contract, which was kind of a cowboy move in and of itself. We bought it sight unseen and 🧵
