I took a few years of French in middle school and the only phrases I retained from that time were “je ne comprend pas” and “est-ce que je peux allais aux toilettes” because those were the only things I said on the regular 😔
I think I know most vegetables I’ve had in Chinese more than in English. Just looked up what turnips are in Chinese and yep I sure don’t got any idea what that is. On the other end of the spectrum I’ve had 莴苣 quite a few times but when I look it up in English it’s a word I’ve never heard of before
