I find it curious that novel writing is a career where, by and large, doing it for a long time and becoming more experienced and accomplished at your craft is celebrated far, far less than your first attempt at it.

I started at 34 and am now 37. The last 2.5 years gave me so much happiness and hope and now I feel like all that has just been cut short. It’s so not fair. But it’s not our fault. Just think if you’d waited longer, or never did it at all.

I have written entire scenes of my book in my phone notes app on the train because the music I was listening to and the scenery around me triggered a solution to my writer’s block lol.

Whatever we can. Which may be a lot or may not be much. Those of us in minority groups will honestly be more focused on trying to survive and stay out of concentration camps.

Real Americans love our Canadian & Mexican neighbors and value peace & diplomacy. Unfortunately half our country confuses toxic masculinity with patriotism, and our President has the social skills of a schoolyard bully.

And for a country that rebelled against an absolute monarchy, it’s pretty crazy that they didn’t think to safeguard against shit like this.

Hospital protests have begun for hospitals that are complying with an executive order banning gender affirming care.

The order does NOT have the force of law, but some hospital systems are too scared of trump to defend trans kids in their care.
